The Meaning Behind The Murals
These two collaborative murals celebrate the heart and unity of Penn State Health through the eyes and hands of our communities.
Hand Print Side: This side showcases the colorful hand prints of Penn State Health providers, nurses and staff reaching out across a stitched road – symbolizing Route 322, the vital link between our community and the Penn State Health Children's Hospital in Hershey. Along this shared path are illustrations of our local health centers and the hospital itself, illustrating how, together, we form one caring and connected family.
Puzzle Piece Side: This side features a vibrant quilt of puzzle pieces, each uniquely designed and painted by children to reflect the compassion, strength, and hope within our care. At its center is the iconic Nittany Lion, surrounded by joyful portraits, uplifting messages and symbols of healing – stitched together like a comforting quilt, reminding us that while we are all different, yet we are united in love and support.
